The FGS Has Conducted and published its first National Risk assessment (NRA). The NRA will assist Somalia to understand ML/TF risks according to FATF R. 1., The reporting Entities can perform a risk-based approach “RBA” and mitigate ML/TF risks, allowing Somalia to have National AML/CFT strategic guidelines and action plans. The NRA Report is part of the country’s Debt Relief (CP for Heavily Indebted Poor Countries “HIPC”).
This NRA together with other evaluations will prepare Somalia for upcoming MENA-FATF mutual evaluation due by 2024.
